Camber Sands
Horse Riding
The miles of unspoilt sand at Camber appear perfect for riding horses, but there are some rules and guidance for exercising horses in this area.
Guidance from Rother District Council says horse riding is allowed, as long as certain byelaws are complied with. You can't break in an untrained horse at Camber, or race horses or other animals on the beach, so that you don't disturb or endanger other people using the beach.
During the busy summer season, there are restrictions on the hours the beach can be used for horse riding; you are advised not to use to beach after 8.30am and not before early evening.
Horse riding at Camber Sands during the summer season is at the discretion of the Coastal Control Officer.
See Rother District Council's website for more information.
