St Leonards Festival

Highlights:

Junkanoo

Woman in carnival costume

This traditional parade troupe from the Bahamas will lead a walking carnival around Warrior Square Gardens.  Local school children and family groups have been participating in workshops to learn the music; dance and make costumes for this vibrant procession.  They will join 30 members of the Junkanoo troupe in an interactive spectacle!

Arts in Kings Road

With vibrant street decorations by local group Radiator, Kings Road will truly come alive as it hosts the St Leonards International Festival Market.  Here local and international festival traders bring you tempting food, gifts and much more from around the world, whilst street entertainers Inside Out Theatre Company and Dot Comedy stage skits amongst the shoppers.

The Forum Stage

Heliosphere

Just one of the many spectacles at last year's St Leonards Festival!

Local Russian, Nepalese and Polish community groups will play alongside popular local artists bringing us a mixture of guitar, drumming, rock, indie, metal, R&B, lounge, swing, pop, country and acoustic music.  We even have some opera this year!  More gentle entertainment will by provided by Oakhurst Dance School.  Swing Street, the amazing 14 piece swing band featuring 5 saxophonists will set the scene for the headline band.  Maroon Town with their special dynamic fusion of ska, breakbeat, rap and dub reggae sound will bring the evening to a climax.
