'Fairlight' Returns

As part of the special anniversary celebrations, a treasured character from the RNLI's history will be making a welcome return to Hastings. 'Fairlight' was Hastings' lifeboat from 1964 to 1988, during which time she was launched more than 200 times and saved the lives of 144 people at sea.

'Fairlight' retired to leafy Norfolk, where she is still regularly used by her new owner. She will be returning to Hastings in early March in plenty of time for the anniversary celebrations. 'Fairlight' will be lifted in position next to the Lifeboat Station, where she'll remain on show until the celebrations are over.
